Claire Winfield is an artist and educator who has recently relocated to North Cornwall from Oxfordshire. Her work is both an abstract and figurative response to landscape in the form of drawing, painting, printmaking, collage and mixed media constructions. It is further underpinned by an interest in the archaeology and local history of a place.
My work is an experiential response to landscape and place explored through the utilisation of a range of processes and materials some of which are found within the landscape I seek to reflect.
My love of outdoors drives me to create as I immerse myself in landscape in all seasons and weather conditions through running, walking and exploring.
Moving to a rural area of North Cornwall within easy access of both the north and south coasts, Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor has opened up many new possible pathways of creative exploration.
